Nintendo DS Lite: The best handheld ever?
Cheaper than a Playstation and with looks of an iPod, the DS Lite is considered by many as the best handheld gaming device. It sold more than 13 million devices. The device has dual screens with the lower screen being a touchscreen. The touchscreen has taken gaming to the next level. Although the graphics might not be as great as the PSP but the games are certainely more enjoyable and fun.
The device also has a built in 802.11b wireless and playing games with people around the world is totally free. There is also an internet browser in the works by Opera. The browser will be available as an add-on catridge for approximately 32 USD. Japanese DS owners will also have the capability of watching TV on their device by getting a TV tuner card. Alligator would like to give two thumbs up to Nintendo for doing a great job.

Looks like it’s Boeings answer to Airbus A380 but Boeing denies it. Here is the new high-tech Boeing 747-8. Boeing claims it to be the fastest and quitest jumbo to date.
MacBook Pro Battery Flaw
News is in that the Macbook Pro batteries are swelling up and then failing. First generation products are generally known to have flaws but Apple is the last compnay we could expect something like this. There hasn’t been a recall issued yet but Apple is replacing them on a case by case basis.

Playstation 3 pricing released!
Sony has officially announced the launch date of November 17 and pricing in Australia. The Playstation will be available in 2 flavours: One with a 20GB hard drive and the other with a 60GB hard drive. The 20GB will cost AU$849 (Approx $653 USD) and the 60GB will cost AU$999 (Approx $769 USD). Lets hope there no shortages like the ones that Xbox 360 faced.
Leopard to have Bit Torrent client built in
There are rumors that OSX Leopard will have a Bit Torrent client built in. This would allow users to donate their upload bandwidth for software patches, etc. in exchange for credit like iTunes songs.
DVD Walkman from Sony
A company that has always been at the forefront of technology is a little slow on this one. Sony has introduced the D-VE7000S and DVP-FX810 DVD Walkmans. These walkmans are nothing more than portable DVD players with a 7 inch screen which have long been in the market. Also these DVD Walkmans do not support DivX or Xvid. Do you want one?
Apple Releases Boot Camp
Apple has announced that the upcoming version of OSX will have the ability to boot Windows on Intel Macs. For now it’s called Boot Camp and called be downloaded from here and installed on Tiger. This program partitions your hard drive and then burns a CD with all the drivers needed for Windows. Once installed you just need to press the Option Key (“Alt”) and the Mac gives you a choice of what OS to boot into.
A computer with 24,000 processors
Imagine upgrading your computer to house 24,000 processors. The Energy Department has just ordered such a system for itself. The system will be delivered in 2008 by Cray Inc. of Seattle. It is expected to have 24,000 2.6Ghz quadcore AMD processors, with 187 to 400 terabytes of memory. This system is also expected to break the 1 PetaFlop (1 Quadrillion) floating point calculation per second. Just a thought, will Windows Server support this system?
